Table-toppers Hampden are shown the door
JC MSFL Division Five leaders Hampden Square have been thrown out of the league after a committee hearing found them guilty of objectionable conduct.
After a hearing headed by league chairman David Wolff, a statement fwas issued which said: “Hampden were found guilty of the charge levied against them under our rule 17(b) following complaints from opponents in two of their matches. They have been punished under section two of this rule. The club are excluded from further participation in the competition and their record is expunged.”
Wolff told JC Sport: “The management committee have dealt with the complaints from FC Marylebone and South Mancunians in their respective games, together with a counter-complaint from Hampden Square against FC Marylebone. We removed the club rather than certain players as we could not identify specific individuals. The league were completely satisfied that FC Marylebone were not guilty and will not take any action against them.”
Hampden striker Joel Nathan said: “We are considering an appeal as we do not think it is right to punish the whole team.”
