Olmert aide in Downing Street visit
A SENIOR aide to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert met officials at 10 Downing Street in London on Monday.
Shalom Lipner, Mr Olmert’s special co-ordinator of public diplomacy, was there as a guest of the Jewish Leadership Council.
Jeremy Newmark, the JLC chief executive, who attended the Downing Street meeting along with Karen Pollock, chief executive of the Holocaust Education Trust, said: “The primary purpose of his visit was to attend a meeting of the JLC new leadership network and to meet leading members of the pro-Israel community.
“We took the opportunity of this visit to introduce him to key parliamentarians, officials and policy advisers with whom the community is in regular contact.”
The network of around 30 “up-andcoming” leaders was set up by the JLC earlier this year.
