David Eisen is the haimishe Santa who found love via the JC

The Jewish Chronicle - - PEOPLE -

SANTA IS Jewish, and so is his lady friend. How do we know? Because the JC made the shidduch.

Last year, we introduced to you our very own haimishe Santa, aka David Eisen, who for the past six years has been playing Santa Claus and granting children’s Christmas wishes at grottos across London. Following the feature, Mr Eisen decided to make a little festive wish of his own, placing an ad on the JC dating page. And, as the festive season is upon us again and Santa this week starts his coveted Selfridges stint for the second year running, we can happily reveal that Santa has found his match — Loraine. The couple have been dating for four months.

“Things are great with the future Mrs Claus,” Mr Eisen, 64, tells People. “My only complaint is that, with all the chicken soup, lockshen pudding, and latkes she feeds me, my clothes are getting too tight. It’s amazing to meet someone you click with. Loraine is more Orthodox than me, but she is very open-minded and is enjoying the glory.” He adds: “It’s just a lot of fun.”

So what does Mr Eisen do when he is not granting wishes? He travels to Israel and a holiday home in Turkey. Well, where else did you expect?

Oh, and he davens at Finchley Progressive Synagogue, North London.
