FOOTBALL CHELSEA this week recalled Israeli striker Ben Sahar after he dropped down the pecking order at loan club QPR, writes Simon Griver.
Sahar, 18, was expected to see out the remainder of his loan deal at Loftus Road until January, but having spent recent matches as an unused sub he was not gaining first team experience.
Sahar, who, as reported, parted company with agent Pini Zahavi last month, trained with his Stamford Bridge teammates on Tuesday.
“We hope this season won’t be completely wasted,” said the player’s mother, Batya Sahar. “A player of his age must play as much as possible.”
Sahar played in Israel’s recent Euro 2008 qualifiers and Chelsea boss Avram Grant will decide whether to put him in the reserves or loan him to another club.
