Job search success
EMPLOYERSAREWELL aware that they are only as strong as the quality and calibre of their employees. And when candidates are looking for a new job, they appreciate a sympathetic ear, along with good practical guidance and, of course, a variety of new and exciting opportunities. The directors of New Leaf set up their company with all this in mind. They aim to meet the requirements of both employer and employee and, while providing that listening ear, give their candidates and clients all the time in the world to talk. New Leaf believes that investing time at the beginning to find out what makes people tick is the secret behind directing each candidate into exactly the right role.
New Leaf recognises that everyone has different needs at different times of life. Some are looking for additional income or are pursuing a dream job. Some need to work in a small, caring environment; others relish a fasterpaced business. There are those who are cautiously re-entering the job market; others are just starting their career. Whatever an individual’s goals, New Leaf will listen and hear and make it their job to find the right job.
Ruth Wagner, one of the directors, explains: “We send people only to vacancies that we really feel suit their experience, temperament and stated aims — we don’t believe in sending our candidates on wild goose, or job, chases!” All candidates are fully interviewed by one of the three directors.
New Leaf is able to offer an incredibly wide range of candidates to fill positions across the spectrum, from the business world to education and from the professions to the charity sector.
Employers benefit from the same support as job seekers. A New Leaf consultant will find out all about the company’s requirements, including values and ethos, so no time is wasted sending candidates who won’t fit in.
New Leaf makes every attempt to get a suitable candidate in front of a prospective employer as soon as possible. Andrea Silverman says “Last week we interviewed a lady in the morning and she was in a job by that afternoon!”
New Leaf operates a “no placement no fee” policy. The client can interview as many candidates as they wish and pay nothing until the right person is found. Additionally, the company offers an attractive guarantee period because, despite best efforts, not all placements work out and it wants to reimburse clients with no fuss and help them move on towards finding the right one. Chananya Silverman, the third director, points out that “We’re definitely not interested in notching up points — we believe in quality not quantity and would rather send just one candidate who we feel is really appropriate than 10 who might not be.”
New Leaf keeps its rates competitive and reasonable. It also has a policy of openness and ethical practice. Investment manager Simon Benarroch appointed his PA through New Leaf. He was very satisfied: “I was as thrilled by the warm and friendly service as I was by the number of suitable, highcalibre candidates it promptly sent me. New Leaf’s integrity and refreshingly honest approach contributed to an overall professional and extremely pleasant experience.” Andrea adds: “The memory we’d like people to take away after dealing with us, is that it was easy, efficient and enjoyable!” New Leaf is offering employers 33 per cent discount on all vacancies registered by April 30, 2008.
