BLOOM’S IN DISPUTE

The Jewish Chronicle - - COMMENT&ANALYSIS -

I was astounded to read your article, “Beth Din to rule on meat war” ( JC, April 11). In it, our former meat suppliers, Kelmans, alleged that they were taking us to the London Beth Din over a disputed bill. Nothing could be further from the truth.

We have not been summoned to a Beth Din as your paper reported. We are, in fact, taking Kelmans to the Beth Din over a malicious whispering campaign. We registered this at the Beth Din on Friday. We did so reluctantly but cannot remain silent when we have acted in good faith and adhered to every clause of our agreement with Kelmans. We have the agreement with all parties’ signatures on it and are, even now, still using Kelmans’ paying-in book as we agreed. Kelmans have not been our meat suppliers for the last two months.

May I take this opportunity to wish you, your staff and all of our customers a kosher and happy Pesach. Kitty Rudolf Managing director, Bloom’s Golders Green Rd, London NW11
