Lilach Bullock gets praise from Downing Street for being a top ‘mumpreneur’

The Jewish Chronicle - - PEOPLE -

YESTERDAY WAS national Work From Home Day. But those of you working from home were probably too busy to notice. It seems an increasing number of mothers, in particular, are taking to working from home in order to balance their work and family pressures.

Among them is Hertfordshire entrepreneur Lilach Bullock, who runs, a virtualPA support service. She has been shortlisted in the Best Mumpreneur category in this year’s mother@work awards for her business. She will attend next month’s awards ceremony at Downing Street, where she will meet Gordon Brown’s wife Sarah Brown, who is supporting the awards.

Israel-born Ms Bullock, 35, tells People: “It’s difficult. I think there should be more help in place to help women go back to work.” She was forced to rethink her career four years ago following the birth of her daughter Emily, as her job at the time would not allow her to work part-time. “Some women decide not to go back to work, which is why my job is the perfect solution as I get to work from home.”

She acknowledges that legislation has improved, but says an increasing number of mothers, concerned about balancing work and home life, are starting up their own businesses. “It can be difficult to juggle the demands of a growing business with family. I hope making it to the shortlist will encourage many more mums to fulfil their ambitions.” She is a member of Radlett Reform Synagogue.
