IS­RAEL’S 60TH birth­day may be over, but the cel­e­bra­tions con­tinue through­out the sum­mer. If you plan to be in Jerusalem next month, there is a whole week­end fea­tur­ing dozens of guided tours as well as a se­ries of spe­cial events (June 5-8; www.ybz. org.il). The week­end af­ter (June 12-14), there is New Or­leans jazz at Cae­sarea Har­bour, where three world-renowned jazz bands will per­form at the an­cient port built by Herod against a back­drop of blue sea and red sun­sets ( www.Jazz.cae­sarea.com). And in July, the 60th An­niver­sary Ad­min­is­tra­tion and the So­ci­ety for the Pro­tec­tion of Na­ture in Is­rael are open­ing the Kin­neret Trail, a 60km path around the Sea of Galilee, in­te­grat­ing ex­ist­ing trails and con­nect­ing tourist at­trac­tions round the lake ( www.teva.org.il).
