It should be pointed out that whilst the police tried to prosecute Channel 4 for broadcasting alleged inflammatory remarks by imams ( JC, May 23), there was no attempt to prosecute the BBC for broadcasting allegedly inflammatory remarks by BNP leader Nick Griffin in The Secret Agent.
Presumably, prosecuting Griffin was seen as desirable by the government, whereas similar treatment of imams was seen as politically incorrect, so they went for the messenger instead.
