TA­BLE TEN­NIS Zak Zilesnick was the star of the show at the Greater Lon­don Closed Cham­pi­onships.

Eng­land’s num­ber one Un­der 13 player, who has only been play­ing com­pet­i­tive ta­ble ten­nis for three years, set a record by win­ning all four ju­nior events.

He cap­tured the Un­der 18, Un­der 15 and Un­der 13 sin­gles ti­tles as well as the ju­nior boys dou­bles crown at the Lon­don Progress club in Southall, West Lon­don. The Euro­pean Mac­cabi Games dou­ble bronze medal­ist over­came Guy Ben-Aroya in the Un­der 15 fi­nal.

Else­where in the com­pe­ti­tion, Rafi Marom beat Chris Lewis, a top 50 Eng­land men’s player, on his way to claim­ing the Banded Sin­gles ti­tle. Ash­ley Stokes and Dov Katz were los­ing semi­fi­nal­ists in the men’s sin­gles.
