World Jewry ‘rises to 13.3m’

THE WORLD’S Jewish pop­u­la­tion grew by 70,000 in the last year to reach a to­tal of 13.3 mil­lion peo­ple, ac­cord­ing to new statis­tics re­leased by the Jewish Agency.

The largest Jewish pop­u­la­tion was in Is­rael, with 5,500,000 peo­ple, with the United States com­ing sec­ond with 5,300,000. How­ever, the re­search showed that in the US, out of this num­ber al­most 1.5 mil­lion peo­ple live in mixed house­holds.

France, Canada, Bri­tain, Rus­sia, Ar­gentina, Ger­many, Aus­tralia, and Brazil make up the rest of the top 10 Jewish con­cen­tra­tions world­wide.
