THE top two teams in the Mac­cabi Mas­ters League Divi­sion One suf­fered shock de­feats. De­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Brady Mac­cabi A were beaten 4-0 by Glen­thorne United A with goals from Greg Mor­ris (2), Andy Block and Michael Nathan.

Lon­don Mac­cabi Lions A went down 3-2 against Faith­fold with a brace from Lions’ Phil Lewis be­ing trumped by strikes from Faith­fold’s Mark Rosen­thal, Dar­ren Saf­fer and Mark Klinger.

South Man­cu­ni­ans recorded their first win of the cam­paign as they put Tem­ple For­tune A to the sword, winning 3-1 cour­tesy of Dar­ren Coon (2) and Jon Co­hen. James Simp­son net­ted For­tune’s con­so­la­tion.

Norstar con­tinue to lead the way in Divi­sion Two af­ter com­ing from two down to beat Clay­hall B 4-2. Brian Deal and Michael Kush­ner put Clay­hall ahead in the first half with two long-range ef­forts. Norstar hit back with sec­ond half strikes from Greg Brad­man, David Ja­cobs, and Si­mon Lawrence.

Glen­thorne United B earned a 3-1 suc­cess over Brady B. Dave Gal­man (2) and Ray Rus­sell net­ted for Glen­thorne with Brady’s goal com­ing through Trevor Tucker.

Lon­don Mac­cabi Lions B an­ni­hi­lated Ashlodge 10-1 with Arthur Duke (4), Marc Mor­ris (2), Im­manuel Ezekiel (2), David Pol­lock and Ju­lian Marks get­ting on the score­sheet. John Sei­gal claimed the con­so­la­tion.
