MIKVEH PUZZLE

The Jewish Chronicle - - Comment & Analysis -

I was amazed to read Barry Landy’s letter ( Letters, October 3) which states that the “trustees of the Cambridge Community Mikveh Charitable Trust (CCMC) have repeatedly voted against giving funds to the Gilinskys”.

I can say with absolute confidence that neither I nor my husband have personally made any application for funds for a mikveh in Cambridge. And why would Mr Landy think such an application has been “voted against” by the CCMC trustees? Has one or more of the CCMC trustee been leaking (albeit, not very accurate) minutes and voting records of the trust to Mr Landy?

I do not understand Mr Landy’s involvement in this matter, nor his attempts to embroil the Cambridge Traditional Jewish Congregation in an internal disagreement between trustees about the allocation of public funds for the benefit of married Jewish women in Cambridge.

Milton Road is the only site in Cambridge with planning permission, three parking places on its forecourt, plenty of side-road parking, and about to receive its own separate Land Registry mortgage-free title. Ofra Gilinsky Perse Way, Cambridge
