NEW ISRAEL FUND

The Jewish Chronicle - - Comment & Analysis -

I wonder if donors to the New Israel Fund are fully aware of the way their money is spent is pursuing the political orientations of that organisation. The NIF funded the attendance of left-wing Israeli groups to attend the 2001 Durban conference which turned into an anti-Israel, anti-Zionist circus. They currently fund the “Coalition of Women for Peace” which, through its front organisations, is committed to the “Struggle to end the occupation”, to “End militarisation of Israeli society” and which advocates a right of return for Palestinians, and public commemorations of the naqba.

Currently one of their grantees is under investigation by the Israeli Attorney General for incitement of wouldbe recruits to the Israeli forces to avoid military service. I gave up contributing to NIF some years ago when I became aware of their attempts to damage the fabric of Israeli society and its international image. Some trustees are well respected members of the Anglo-Jewish community. I cannot believe that they are fully aware of the true nature of what is being done in their name.
