Shul leader suf­fers fa­tal Yom­tov heart at­tack

HAR­RO­GATE SYN­A­GOGUE mem­ber Sandy Roys­ton died of a heart at­tack af­ter the morn­ing ser­vice on the sec­ond day of Rosh Hashanah. He col­lapsed in the street close to the shul.

The Lon­don-born 82-year-old moved to Har­ro­gate with his fam­ily in 1939 and af­ter serv­ing in the RAF built up a suc­cess­ful fur­ni­ture busi­ness. He served the com­mu­nity in ca­pac­i­ties in­clud­ing pres­i­dent.

He leaves a widow, three chil­dren, eight grand­chil­dren and two great­grand­chil­dren.
