Knife at­tacker con­victed

AN UN­EM­PLOYED man faces jail af­ter he was con­victed of stab­bing a Hat­zola med­i­cal vol­un­teer.

Mo­hamed Jama Ahmed, 37, of North Cir­cu­lar Road, Lon­don, was found guilty at Wood Green Crown Court of two charges of griev­ous bod­ily harm with in­tent and one of steal­ing a car. He will be sen­tenced on Novem­ber 27.

Charedi emer­gency ser­vice vol­un­teer Zvi Ham­mond, 43, was sit­ting in his car at the time of the at­tack, in Gold­ers Green on April 25.

He was stabbed twice and suf­fered life-threat­en­ing in­juries, in­clud­ing a col­lapsed lung, but re­cov­ered and was in court to see Ahmed con­victed.

A sec­ond uniden­ti­fied Jewish man was at­tacked by Ahmed on the same evening.

He was stabbed in the ab­domen and made a full re­cov­ery.
