If Jewish teach­ers were re­fused time off for the High Holy-Days ( Let­ters, pas­sim), I would have ev­ery sym­pa­thy. But I have lit­tle com­pas­sion for em­ploy­ees who en­joy 12 weeks’ paid hol­i­day a year and ex­pect to be paid for tak­ing fur­ther time off for fes­ti­vals.
