GOALS from Sid Shaw (2) and Paul Sham­plina helped main­tain Glen­thorne United A’s un­beaten start in Divi­sion One as they ac­counted for South Man­cu­ni­ans 3-0.

De­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Brady Mac­cabi A got back to winning ways with a 5-0 maul­ing of ti­tle ri­vals North Lon­don Raiders. Scott An­sher (2), Marc Her­man, Gideon Bar­nett and Ja­son Har­ris found the net. Brady man­ager Daniel Collins said: “We’re not giv­ing up our ti­tle without a fight.”

Lon­don Mac­cabi Lions A made their in­ten­tions clear with a 3-2 victory over Faith­fold, who took the lead through Dar­ren Gurner. Lions stormed back with goals from Adam Lee, Andy Miller and Nick Baum, and de­spite Faith­fold’s Joel Nathan pulling one back, Lions held on.

EDRS Stone­grove beat Lon­don Mac­cabi Lions B 3-2 in Divi­sion Two. EDRS stormed into a three-goal lead cour­tesy of strikes from Mark Kingston (2) and Adam Kern. Marc Mor­ris and Lau­rence Sw­erner replied.

Brady Mac­cabi B made it two wins out of two as they beat Glen­thorne United B with goals from Gary Field, Lenny Klein and Dean Poster.

Tem­ple For­tune also won 3-0, beat­ing Ashlodge with Yali Mamouri, Allon Schick-Maier and James Simp­son find­ing the net.

Norstar sur­prised Clay­hall, last sea­son’s sec­ond divi­sion cham­pi­ons, with Lee Co­hen, Steve Jakar and Richard Kleiner the marks­men. Norstar man­ager Alan Dove said: “Last sea­son Clay­hall were wor­thy cham­pi­ons, but we showed that we’re more than ca­pa­ble of com­pet­ing with the top teams.”
