LIONS LATE SHOW

The Jewish Chronicle - - Sport -

A late strike from Daniel Stanton lifted London Lions back to second in the Herts Senior County League Premier Division as they held off Chipperfield Corinthians.

Giving a rare start to the evergreen Andrew Myers and a debut to Dean Nyman, the Lions took the lead in the first half. Having seen his first penalty saved, Adam Stolerman fared better from another spot-kick seconds later

With Darren Gardner giving the Lions defence countless problems, it came as no surprise when the Corinthians equalised in the second half.

To their credit, the Lions stepped up a gear and Stanton found time and space to find the net and earn his team a 2-1 victory. Lions boss Tony Gold said: “When the lads play like thos it makes all the hard work worthwhile. Andy Myers put in an exceptional performance, both vocally and physically.”
