DUELLING DELIS IN WORLD’S SANDWICH CAPITAL
Your feature on Katz’s haimishe deli in New York ( JC, July 29) overlooked the 2nd Avenue Deli, which in my view is even better than Katz’s.
It may have moved from its original site but is now even easier to find, at 162 East 33rd Street between Lexington and Third Avenue.
The food and service are excellent but remember to ask for corned beef rather than pastrami in your “Instant Heart Attack” sandwich order, if you want the American version of our salt beef.
I think I’ll try the gribenes next time I’m there… Barbara Coultas Tewit Well Avenue, Harrogate
