‘Fan­tas­tic re­sponse’ for JRDA

The Jewish Rac­ing Driv­ers As­so­ci­a­tion (JRDA) will be of­fi­cially launched on Septem­ber 11 at an event hosted by Lo­tus Sil­ver­stone dur­ing the Le Mans Se­ries and In­ter­con­ti­nen­tal Cup.

The JRDA an­nounced ear­lier this year that they were form­ing an or­gan­i­sa­tion which they hope will find a Jewish For­mula 1 cham­pion within five years, and they have at­tracted at­ten­tion from the US and Europe.

Paul Burns of the JDRA said: “We’ve had a fan­tas­tic re­sponse from like-minded rac­ing en­thu­si­asts from far and wide and now have a great launch event.”

Is­raeli driv­ing prodigy Alon Day, who has teamed up with the JRDA, will be rac­ing at the launch event and ad­dress­ing at­ten­dees as a speaker af­ter­wards.

Day, 19, cur­rently races in the Ger­man For­mula 3 se­ries for HS Tech­neck Mo­tor­sport and is cur­rently fifth in the 15-man cham­pi­onship with just un­der half of the sea­son re­main­ing.

He har­bours am­bi­tions of com­pet­ing on the se­nior For­mula 1 cir­cuit and said: “Hav­ingth­eJRDAl­o­goon­my­car­act­sasa vis­i­ble re­minder to our com­mu­nity that any­onewithenougham­bi­tio­nand­drive can achieve any­thing.”
