HULL FRIENDS of Magen David Adom held its annual garden party at the home of Hull Hebrew Congregation president Jonathan Levine and his wife, Debbie. The event, opened by Ajex veteran Max Daniels, included stalls and a raffle and raised more than £1,000. It marked the 30th anniversary of the release of a cookery book produced by the charity that included recipes sent in by JC readers.
THE LORD MAYOR of Leeds Cllr Revd Alan Taylor has hailed the new Leeds Jewish Housing Association’s £6.6 million sheltered housing scheme in Stonegate Way as an excellent role model for the city. The Lord Mayor unveiled a plaque to record a donation from Ajex of £15,000 to LJHA. The event was held in the Joash Woodrow lounge, where the money will be used to add to its furnishings.
