THERE IS nothing good about the riots that took place a fortnight ago. They shamed our nation. But amidst the debris, literal and metaphorical, the story of Aaron Biber, the Tottenham barber, is heartening. Specifically, the £35,000 that was raised in almost no time from strangers touched by his story shows the side of Britain of which we can be proud. There is much about our society that indeed needs to be fixed. But there is a lot that doesn’t.
