SPREADING COMFORT

The Jewish Chronicle - - Comment & Analysis -

With the “cottage cheese revolution” continuing to curdle in Israel, I wondered if the London Beth Din might comment on an equally exasperating milchig conundrum.

As a former Mancunian deprived by the UK Kashrut authorities of at least two childhood “comfort foods”, I was bowled over this week when my wife returned from a supermarket in Ra’anana with a jar of imported, Dutch, Heinz Sandwich Spread, resplendent with its kosher seal.

Surely spreading Heinz Sandwich Spread in Broughton Park is the same as spreading Heinz Sandwich Spread in Amsterdam?

I am now scouring the world for Kosher Vimto — top dollar paid! Mark Baker Sloane Street, London SW1
