The Jewish Chronicle - - Comment -

Much space has been devoted in your columns to Peter Beinart’s call for a boycott of products from the settlements ( Essay, April 6). As Shaul Mofaz, the new Kadima leader, has stressed, the greatest threat to Israel’s future is not Iran, it is the settlements.

There is little that Jews in the diaspora can do to influence events in Israel. But what Beinart is urging, albeit in a disputable way, is to have the courage to make it clear to Israelis that the only way to peace is for Israel to remove itself from the territories, while militarily preserving its security, and that the current policy of the Netanyahu government is leading it in the opposite direction.
