The Jewish Chronicle - - Comment -

The Talmudic maxim “he who saves one life saves the world entire” ( Judaism, April 20) was inscribed on the ring given to Oskar Schindler by his Jews. At that point Schindler, as a member of the Nazi party, was compelled to flee in order to escape prosecution. He saved some 1,000 Jews. The Schindlerjuden descendants now amount to more than 7,000 — not “the world entire,” but as much as one man could possibly do. Barry Borman Edgwarebury Lane, Edgware, HA8
