LONDON Lions concluded their most successful season in the Molten Spartan South Midlands League Division One with a resounding 4-1 win over Kentish Town.
Two goals from super-sub Max Kyte plus one apiece from Dean Nyman and player-manager Tony Gold was just reward for an excellent performance in a game where all the goals came in the second half.
Kyte broke the deadlock after l latching on to a rebound from a powe erful strike from Ben Ellis before the v visitors levelled the scores from the p penalty spot.
Lions stepped up a gear in the last 2 20 minutes with Gold ghosting in to head home a precision corner from Josh Kennet.
Nyman popped up to register his 19th goal of the season before Kyte finished the job from close range.
Gold said: “The overall fact this season is the tremendous collective fighting spirit we have shown. It has been well documented that the first three months of the season were extremely difficult. We have played 25 games since October 26 - winning 16 - and finished the season 10 points better off than last year and jointfifth separated on goal difference.
“The boys deserve a rest now and I hope they return in June rejuvenated and excited about having a real crack at promotion next season.
“With the right commitment and application we have shown in recent months that we are capable.” Lions: Cenolli, Lampert, Myeroff, Bentwood, Kennet, Schwarz (sub: Morris), Sheena (sub: Kyte), Engleman (sub: Gold), Nyman, Ellis
