THERE ARE more romantic ways s of celebrating a wedding anniversary y than pounding the London streets for r 26 miles.

But for Lauren and Jonathan Barr, r, who have a combined age of 99, Sunnday’s race was the second London Marrathon they have run together, raising g £6,700 for Chai Cancer Care.

Mrs Barr was the fastest of the two, o, coming home in four hours 45 min- utes. She waited to greet her husband, d, who finished 20 minutes later.

The couple now hope to turn their r attention to marathons in Paris and d other overseas locations.

“Lauren now absolutely loves running and I am growing more keen on the sport,” said Mr Barr, who is an n estate agent. “The freedom of running, g, being in the fresh air in all weathers s and finding a sport we can do together r makes it all the more enjoyable.”

The Barrs postponed a meal to celebrate their 22nd anniversary to a time “when we will be in more comfort and d pain free”.
