How had his con­tact de­tails been ob­tained, he asked the char­ity? They had been sold on by the

mag­a­zine, to which he had, un­til that point, sub­scribed.

The mag­a­zine’s for­mer edi­tor Richard In­grams once said he re­fused to read letters if he thought the writer had “a Jewish name”.

Ap­peal­ing to them for do­na­tions, though, is fine.
