En­voy draws the crowds

IS­RAEL AM­BAS­SADOR Daniel Taub ad­dressed a joint event held by the South Lon­don Is­rael Fo­rum and Sut­ton and District Syn­a­gogue which at­tracted people from the area’s United, Lib­eral and Re­form com­mu­ni­ties, as well as Nightin­gale House res­i­dents.

Speak­ing on new chal­lenges and op­por­tu­ni­ties in Is­rael diplo­macy, Mr Taub cited ex­am­ples from his ex­pe­ri­ence of rep­re­sent­ing Is­rael at the United Na­tions and in the ne­go­ti­a­tion room. He an­swered a broad range of ques­tions, from the chang­ing sit­u­a­tion in the re­gion to the im­age of Is­rael in the UK.

The en­voy was pre­sented with a do­na­tion for the Is­raeli char­ity Yad Sarah, pro­vid­ing as­sis­tance to those with med­i­cal prob­lems, and a signed bot­tle of Speaker John Ber­cow’s Par­lia­men­tary whisky.


MAL­DON Cam­pSim­cha, help­ing young people with se­ri­ous ill­ness and their fam­i­lies, held Es­sex re­treats for over 200 chil­dren and par­ents.
