Sib­lings pass test of time

ATH­LET­ICS Sis­ters Maayan and Lia Radus were among the young Jewish ath­letes to im­prove their best per­for­mances in the Wat­ford Open Graded Meet­ing se­ries.

Maayan Radus, 10, recorded a 1,500m best of 5:33.88 to place third in the UK un­der-11 rank­ings, while Lia, 12, cut her re­spec­tive 800m and 1,500m times to 2:31.10 and 5:10.98.

Their Shaftes­bury Bar­net club­mates Jes­sica Hur­ley and Ju­dah Yaw­itch also set 800m PBs at Wat­ford. Hur­ley, 14, recorded 2:21.36 while Yaw­itch, 11, im­proved his best to 2:27.56. He also sealed vic­tory in the Eastern Young Ath­letes League at Steve­nage with a new 1,500m best of 5:02.9. Co­lette Hur­ley, mother of Jes­sica, moved to sev­enth in the UK V50 400m rank­ings by record­ing 69.24 at Wat­ford.

So­phie Dow­son, 15, took vic­tory in the Sau­cony Hamp­shire Grand Prix in Bas­ingstoke, with a pole vault clear­ance of 3.20m. Al­lana Ed­wards, 14, recorded 50.27in­win­ningth­e300mhur­dle­sev­ent in the Traf­ford Grand Prix at Stret­ford.
