It’s game on for Meyer

JUDO Amy Meyer breathed a sigh of relief after passing a late weigh-in to confirm her participation at the Commonwealth Games.

Meyer, 22, says it is an “honour” and “dream come true” to be representing Australia in Glasgow.

Having won bronze at the Oceania Games earlier this year, she will be looking to impress in the under-48k weight division in the hope of boosting her chances of selection for the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

“I’ve put everything on hold and have to make judo my number one priority this year,” said Meyer who graduated from Sydney University with a degree in exercise sport science last year.

“The build up to the Games have been really hard,” she said. “I’ve been juggling work and training, meaning there’s not much time for anything else.”
