Frolicks at the fringe

The Jewish Chronicle - - JC SPECIAL -

IF YOU haven’t been to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe before, the sheer scale of the world’s largest arts festival, which takes over the capital of Scotland from August 1 to 25, can be overwhelming.

With more than 26,000 performers, in more than 3,100 shows at almost 300 venues — some attracting just a handful of people, some hundreds — it embraces a wide spectrum of performances and art forms. Some are free, others are pay-what-you-want, and others are sold out days in advance.
