BIRM­ING­HAM

A STAND with Is­rael sol­i­dar­ity event, or­gan­ised by the Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Coun­cil in con­junc­tion with the West Mid­lands Friends of Is­rael took place at Birm­ing­ham Cen­tral Sy­n­a­gogue. More than 200 peo­ple from across the Jewish com­mu­nity to­gether with nonJewish friends of Is­rael at­tended the meet­ing, which was ad­dressed by Is­raeli diplo­mat Ish­mael Khaldi, Rabbi Yossi Ja­cobs, Chris­tian Friends of Is­rael’s David Walker and Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Coun­cil Chair and West Mid­lands Friends of Is­rael mem­ber, Ruth Ja­cobs. Al­most £4,000 was col­lected for care pack­ages for soldiers on the front­line and to help pro­vide por­ta­ble bomb shel­ters.
