‘Skin lamp’ advertised

The Jewish Chronicle - - WORLD NEWS -

AN UNIDENTIFIED individual in Romania has advertised a lampshade “made from the skin of a Holocaust victim”.

Romanian news channel Antena 1 reported last weekend that the object was priced at $26,800.

The Centre for Monitoring and Combating Antisemitism in Romania, or MCA Romania, reported the matter to the police.

The director of MCA Romania, Maximillian Marco Katz, told JTA: “We will let the authorities deal with it. The fact is that the ad is still out there so the seller was not bothered by the TV report on this matter. Even if this is a hoax, the seller should be brought to justice for abusing the Holocaust for personal gain.”
