Survivor stories on show
HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR stories collated through a Scottish initiative are being exhibited at Glasgow Caledonian University.
Thirty-seven survivors were interviewed through the Gathering the Voices project for the exhibition, which will be made available to other educational institutions.
A project co-ordinator, Steve Anson, hoped that exhibition visitors would be inspired “to go on the website and listen further. We’ve had a fair amount of publicity and interest from both the Jewish and non-Jewish community and the Scottish Parliament have made inquiries. “It’s definitely targeted at the wider Scottish community. We not only have stories of the Holocaust. We also focus on how people came here and lived their lives in Scotland. We want to show how the refugees enriched the country they came to.”
The exhibition is at the university library until Sunday and 23 testimonies have to date been put on the website.
