MUSLIM’S HIGH HOLY-DAY ADDRESS IN SHUL
THE SMALL Bradford community has continued an interfaith tradition by inviting Muslim and Christian speakers to address its festival services. Jani Rashid — a Muslim appointed to the Bradford Synagogue council last year — delivered a sermon on Rosh Hashanah. For Yom Kippur, the Bishop of Bradford, the Rt Rev Dr Toby Howarth, was guest speaker. Mr Rashid recalled looking around the synagogue as a child and spoke with affection about shul chair Rudi Leavor’s dedication to friendship between faiths.
