FUTSAL RUSSELL Goldstein is confident England can qualify for the next round of the Futsal World Cup ahead of the trip to Israel.
Goldstein, 21, will earn his third full Englandcapintheforthcomingfriendly againstEstoniaastheteamcompletesits preparations ahead of the qualifiers.
England have been drawn in a group along with Denmark, Wales and Israel and Goldstein describes the hosts as the “main challengers” in the roundrobin competition where the top team progresses. Goldstein said: “I’m quietly confident we will go through. The fact that I’ll be playing against fellow Jews in Israel representing my country makes it even more special. It’s a great honour.
“It’s incredible to believe I only started playing futsal a few years ago and I’d like to thanks Maccabi GB for introducing me to the sport.”
Looking ahead to Israel, he said: “We’ll bebasedinTelAvivandI’vetoldmyteammates about what an amazing country it is. I’m really happy with my form for Helvecia in the Southern Futsal Super League and cannot wait to get going.”
