MANCH­ESTER SCHOOL IM­PROVES TO MEET NEC­ES­SARY RE­QUIRE­MENTS

A STRICTLY Ortho­dox boys’ sec­ondary school in Manch­ester has been told it has made the nec­es­sary im­prove­ments to meet in­de­pen­dent school stan­dards.

Of­sted vis­ited Mechi­noh School in Jan­uary, where it found the wel­fare, health and safety of the 62 pupils to be un­sat­is­fac­tory. But af­ter re­vis­it­ing the school in Septem­ber, in­spec­tors said: “Lead­ers have taken ef­fec­tive ac­tion to en­sure that the wel­fare, health and safety of pupils at the school are se­cure, that suit­able checks on staff are made and that the premises and ac­com­mo­da­tion of the school are now suit­able.”
