Café cooks up a hummus peace plan

The Jewish Chronicle - - WORLD NEWS - BY ROSA DOHERTY

IN AN attempt to quell the current tension, one Israeli café is offering Jews and Arabs who eat together a 50 per cent discount on hummus dishes.

In a Facebook post, the owner of the Hummus Bar in Kfar Vitkin, Kobi Tzafrir, wrote: “Scared of Arabs? Scared of Jews? With us there are no Arabs, but also no Jews. With us there are people.

“And genuine excellent Arabic hum- mus, and Jewish, excellent, praiseworthy falafel.”

Speaking to the Times of Israel, Mr Tzafrir said: “If there’s anything that can bring together these peoples, it’s hummus.”
