JC reporter wins young journalist of year award
JC REPORTER Sandy Rashty has collected a leading award for her work.
Ms Rashty, 26, received the Young Journalist of the Year prize in the annual GG2 Leadership Awards, sponsored by the Daily Mail.
Presentingherwiththe award at a gala dinner in London last Wednesday, Conservative minister Shailesh Vara said: “Our
Sandy with her award winner has broken down barriers in her work and helped readers understand the position of traditionally hostile elements and used language skills to great effect.”
The judges referred specifically to Ms Rashty’s interviews with Nigel Farage and Tommy Robinson.
The award recognised high-achievers from minority communities in Britain and covered 11 categories. Business Secretary Sajid Javid was named the most influential Asian.
