A MATCH MADE IN SHABBAT UK

The Jewish Chronicle - - COMMUNITY - ROSA DOHERTY

SHABBAT UK has its first love story. Nicola Messing and Daniel Benzaquen, who met at a central London event last year, are engaged and plan to marry in 2016.

“He saw me chatting in a group and noticed we had a mutual friend, so he used that to come over and be introduced,” Ms Messing, 29, recalled. “He added me on Facebook and after a few weeks we went out. We saw each other once a week for a while and eventually it became more.”

Mr Benzaquen, 32, proposed to his bride-to-be on holiday in Israel and the couple celebrated their engagement at the weekend. “It was quite apt really as it was the same time we met the year before. I used to hold back from going to Jewish events but if I hadn’t gone [to Shabbat UK] I wouldn’t have met Daniel.”
