The Jewish Chronicle - - COMMENT -

Last Friday morning, October 23, my class and I gathered in a great big white tent at Brent Cross with hundreds of other Jewish primary school children. It was amazing to be singing and dancing together freely, first to the Jamaican drumming and then to the very many Jewish songs.

The terrible things that have been going on in Israel and around the world have been very worrying. But for those few hours in the tent they did not enter my mind at all. It felt really good to celebrate with all those children.

I’m so grateful to Chief Rabbi Mirvis for introducing Shabbat UK to all of us. Alex Wojakovski, aged 10 Naima JPS
