Red-hot Reiss in a league of his own

OC­TO­BER FEA­TURED a num­ber of eye-catch­ing per­for­mances in the MGBSFL, but no-one was as con­sis­tent as Reiss Mogilner — my Player of the Month.

The Brady Mac­cabi hot-shot reg­is­tered three con­sec­u­tive hat-tricks in a real pur­ple patch that ac­counted for Scrabble FC, North Lon­don Raiders B and SPEC FC.

Brady boss Josh Dagul de­scribed Mogilner as “un­playable at the mo­ment”. He said: “Reiss is ooz­ing con­fi­dence and is one of the best play­ers in the league.”

Ja­son Stein wins the Man­ager of the Month ac­co­lade. One of the char­ac­ters of the league, Stein’s Oak­wood B have been churn­ing out re­sult af­ter re­sult and they are well-placed to chal­lenge for pro­mo­tion in Divi­sion One.

Stein was com­mended fol­low­ing vic­to­ries over Mac­cabi Lon­don Lions B, Real Sosobad, North Lon­don Raiders B and a draw against ti­tle ri­vals Brady.

Rob Her­shkorn was the star per­former in the Pre­mier. He was ra­zor sharp in front of goal and helped pro­pel Cam­den Park to the sum­mit. Un­for­tu­nately he suf­fered a bro­ken metatarsal and will be out un­til the new year.

Jon Ja­cobs took the man­age­rial hon­ours in the top-flight af­ter lead­ing a re­vamped Red­bridge Jewish Care A to the sum­mit, in­clud­ing an eye-catch­ing win over Hen­don United Sports Club A.

Scrabble FC hot-shot Zak McLeod edged out a host of team-mates along with Jono Nes­bitt of Hen­don B and Ed Brafman of Lions B to the top award in Divi­sion Two.

L’Equipe boss Nick Stern was re­warded for a string of ex­cel­lent dis­plays which cul­mi­nated in a thrilling cup up­set over first divi­sion Los Blan­cos.
