Thief dated his victim
A “PREDATORY” thief dated a Jewish woman so that he could burgle her home.
Simon Cohen met his victim, from Borehamwood, through an internet dating agency. When she invited him to stay the night, he took the opportunity to photograph her house keys and bank documents.
In two subsequent break-ins he stole £550, an iPad and a Star of David. Police arrested Cohen, 32, of Colindale, north London, by tracing him through the Find My iPad app on the stolen device.
He was jailed for four years at St Albans Crown Court after pleading guilty to two offences of burglary and two offences of possessing articles for use in fraud.
Passing sentence, Judge Warner told Cohen the offences were “mean and cynical”. He said a probation report had rightly described Cohen as “predatory and manipulative”.
