The Jewish Chronicle - - COMMENT -

IT’S not a giant leap for Jewish fans of the Star Wars films to see a likeness between fretful android C-3PO and a neurotic nebbish. But culture website Vulture took the comparison one step further with their “Woody Allen ‘Star Wars’ remix” video in honour Spot the difference: C-3PO and Woody Allen of the new film The Force Awakens. Vulture writers Diane Bullock and Mike Schuster said: “C-3PO is surrounded by warriors, but he’s just a self-doubting nebbish, always worried. In other words, like a Woody Allen protagonist.”

In the video, footage from Star Wars films are accompanied by music from the opening sequence of Woody Allen’s Manhattan, but with a voiceover from the droid himself delivering some of his best lines. “We seem to be made to suffer. It is our lot in life,” C-3PO says, before concluding, “We’re doomed.”
