FOR AULD LANG ZION, MY DEAR

The Jewish Chronicle - - COMMENT -

MOST Jews have no problem wishing others “Happy New Year” ahead of January 1. But there seems to be an increasing trend to add a little local heimishe touch to the greeting. Among the versions I heard last week were “HNY and well over the past” or, for those hitting the bubbly on New Year’s Eve, “Well over the First”.
