Stab vest demo goes wrong

The Jewish Chronicle - - WORLD NEWS - BY JESSICA WEINSTEIN

AN ISRAELI reporter has been accidentally stabbed — while demonstrating the strength of a stab-proof vest.

Reporter Eitam Lachover was testing the vest for Channel 2 News with Yaniv Montakyo, the vice-president of the company that designed the jacket, when Mr Montakyo accidentally stabbed him in an unprotected area.

In a video recorded for the news feature, Mr Montakyo can be seen pulling out a commando knife. Mr Lachover laughs and says, “You’re going to stab me with this?” before being assured by Mr Montakyo, “We are very confident in our product… Don’t be afraid, if something happens, I’m here.”

He then holds the reporter and stabs him in the back — but unfortunately the third strike of the knife tears the jacket, wounding Mr Lachover.

Mr Lachover said that he had not

How not to show off a product been seriously injured in the accident, writing on Twitter: “Superficial stab wounds, had some stitches and was released back home. Many thanks to everyone for your concern!”

There have been 147 terror attacks since mid-September in Israel, resulting in the deaths of 21 Israelis and an American student.
