Flix­ton won ugly, says Rosen­berg

FOOT­BALL TONY Rosen­berg in­sists the re­sult was all that mat­tered af­ter AFC Flix­ton re­turned to the top of the Ac­counts Premier Divi­sion — af­ter a seven-week break.

Joint-boss Rosen­berg claimed Flix­ton were rusty af­ter run­ning out win­ners over PWC.

Jor­dan Keel­ing was among the goalscor­ers as Flix­ton ended a long wait to play due to a string of post­pone­ments be­cause of the ad­verse weather con­di­tions.

Rosen­berg said: “We were well off the pace. It was a like a pre-sea­son game and it was very frus­trat­ing watch­ing from the side­lines.

“It was a game full of mis­takes, played on a heavy pitch, but the im­por­tant thing was the win.”

South Manch­ester Sports 1st climbed into third spot af­ter a 3-1 vic­tory at The Vil­lage.

Manch­ester Mac­cabi 1st re­main in se­cond spot and were in County Cup ac­tion. They marched into the quar­ter­fi­nals af­ter Oli Grant scored the only goal against the Snipe Inn.

Manch­ester Mac­cabi 2nd re­main in se­cond spot in Divi­sion One af­ter a 3-0 win over Bar­clays. Roy Fux was among the marks­men.
