TEN­NIS DUDI Sela missed out on a place in the last 16 of the Aus­tralian Open af­ter bow­ing out in four sets against An­drey Kuznetsov of Rus­sia.

Hav­ing seen off Fer­nando Ver­dasco — con­queror of Rafael Nadal — in round two, the Is­raeli pro­duced a spir­ited per­for­mance be­fore go­ing down 7-5, 3-6, 6-1, 7-6.

Sela said: “I had a good week, it’s a shame it ended. I’m happy to get the sea­son off to a good start and I hope it con­tin­ues this way.”
